The Good Stuff -- Sleeping and Eating
All players will be asked to bring light refreshments for everyone to enjoy throughout the weekend. Chips, cookies, candy, granola bars, along with plenty of soft drinks and coffee, have proven popular with the golfers. If you are a breakfast person, be sure to bring something you enjoy eating for Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning breakfast. Friday and Saturday lunch is available at the clubhouse. Don has a Keurig at the house, so feel free to bring your favorite K-pods.
Since the majority of the golfers will be traveling to Timberline on Thursday afternoon or evening, everyone is on-their-own for Thursday dinner.
Friday and Saturday night dinners will be buffet style meals back at Lakeside Refuge. Friday night is Italian night (spaghetti, meatballs, salad), and Saturday night is hamburgers/hotdogs, baked beans, maccaroni salad and chips! The cost of these dinners is included in the FLOG Registration Fee.
At the conclusion of the Sunday round, all golfers will return to Lakeside Refuge for the Awards Luncheon and the presentation of prizes to the winning team. During the Awards Luncheon, we will make the 10th annual presentation of the Wayne O'Shell Memorial Plaque to a deserving golfer.
All golfers will lodge at Don's vacation home, "Lakeside Refuge," or at Chris' vacation home, "Wildlife." Contact Don if you need directions to the houses or to Timbeline Resort in Canann Valley WV. Rooming assignments will be posted here in early June.
When you arrive at the Timberline Gate House, give the attendant your name and mention that you part of the Oliver Golf Tournament. As a courtesy and as a precaution for the area wildlife, all golfers are asked to carefully observe the posted speed limits while driving in Timberline. Thanks so much!
